2nd Battalion - 4th Aviation Regiment (GSAB) "Mustangs"
Based at Fort Hood and currently serving in Iraq.

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Georgetown ISD, and the City of Georgetown are partners in the Adopt A Unit Initiative to support these troops and their families throughout their 16-18 month deployment in Iraq. The battalion includes eight companies with a wide range of duties, including command and control, air assault, medical evacuations, helicopter maintenance and repair, air traffic control, unmanned aerial vehicle surveillance, food services, and supply and logistics. Several of the companies in the battalion fly or provide support for Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters. 2-4 Aviation is one battalion of the 4th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Outings and support activities are planned for the family members of the soldiers. In addition, activities to support the soldiers in the unit are ongoing. The #1 request of the soldiers is to take care of their families. The #1 request of the families is to take care of the soldiers. We hope to set up monthly outings for the families for the entire 15 month deployment.

T-shirts featuring the 2-4 Aviation Battalion insignia are on sale for $10 at the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce at 100 Stadium Drive, or at the Visitor Information Center at 101 W. Seventh Street. The unit is currently scheduled to come home starting at the beginning of May and ending the end of June. Please consider buying a shirt to show your support for the troops. All proceeds raised from t-shirt sales will be used for things needed by troops returning home.
